2002
Butterfly Tour
Interventionist Art
In June 2002 I had an overwhelming desire to travel to Prague. SO with £50 in my bank account (to start, more money was to come later) and a one way plane ticket, I went. My goal was ‘to allow my artistic truth to manifest itself in the moment’. I believed more than anything, despite the obvious practicalities many pointed out, that I was meant to be there, doing…. whatever. I trusted that the universe would take care of me. I was prepared to sleep on the street; I was even prepared for death. I was fearless because the purpose and love that existed in me was that great.
As it turns out, I didn’t die and didn’t even have to sleep on the street. My adventures took me from bohemian hostels, to penthouse suites, to villas in the countryside. However, my accommodation, though rich to say the least, was not as important as the artistic truth that was born.
The tour began in the Czech Republic and continued on to Switzerland, Germany and Italy. It lasted from July of 2002 through October 2002. I returned to Glasgow in November 2002.
