21 February – 27 March 2004

The aim of ARTictecture is to encourage a broader public awareness and appreciation of architecture through the work of fifteen artists who explore and interpret aspects of both individual buildings and our urban environment, through various media.  The dynamic and often challenging artwork is intended to introduce visitors to the aesthetic value of architecture while creating for architects, both new and established, a renewed focus on the many sensual experiences which the built environment can, and should, offer.

Worked with special needs kids over four weeks developing exploring their relationship to and experience of their space.  From these intuitive workshops reflected that experience in a piece of sound design which will was recorded and edited for the gallery presentation.

13-14 FEBRUARY 2004
Interventionist Art

On the 13th of February I meditated on love and wrote a continuous story, love poem, prose in a journal.  On Saturday the 14th I ripped the pages out of the journal, 50 all told, got an all day bus pass and from 8:30am dropped the individual leaves on 50 different buses.  In the beginning of the day I was more trepidatious – I didn’t want people to know that I was loving them – that I was consciously placing love onto the bus. I was very sneaky about my love.  But when, by 4 o’clock I still had 30 more sheets and was bored out of my SKULL-  I knew I needed to pick up the pace and release myself to the activity of loving with abandon.

When I did the experience became transcendent- I was in hands beyond my own- it wasn’t so much as me getting on those buses as those buses enfolding me. And I met magical people. The world became magic.  This is our inheritance, if we accept it.  I don’t know if anyone read my pages, maybe they were all binned.  But the intention was there.  And that is a start.

Where am I?
