Theatre is a live event it is concerned with space and relationships in the NOW/LIVE space, film exists for a future/PROJECTED moment, and if you engage with mythology you bring in past/MEMORY. If you can bring all three together you MAYHAPS can create something truly amazing/holistic…. So Threads was an experiment looking at just that – we knitted this interactive environment in an old factory down near Bridge Street, and I worked with five dancers looking at themes of women’s ancestral identity as expressed through the body, and bringing in an ancient Sumerian myth “Innana and Dumuzi”…. Threads refers to the tenuous resonances that link women together throughout time.
