In January 2009 I travelled to Sri Lanka to work with a team of international artists in the project “A Drop in the Ocean”.
The project aimed to bring some fun into the lives of children whose lives have been badly affected by Civil War and the Tsunami via theatre. Over one month the group we worked with a mix of Tamil and Sinalese children providing a platform for expression. Normally these children operate in partial ‘house arrest’ with their parents fearing kidnapping or interrogation by the government. This groundbreaking program (via charity Fun for Life) brought together in a positive manner diverse groups otherwise kept separate.
In a simple, profound and personal way we are engaging towards peace. The reason the project is called “A Drop in the Ocean” as it is viewed as one single drop towards a global movement of peace. Join us in supporting these projects. Together we are single drops, but together we can make a Peace Storm!
