TALK/DANCING in association with St. Mungo’s Museum of Peace, Glasgow
Description: I will be in residence dancing for people’s wishes! Feel free to contribute yours, or get involved in the dancing. The end of the day will culminate in a talk ‘Dancing Prayers’ in which I explains initiatives behind dancing, linking into a many-thousand year old tradition of people expressing their prayers in movement.

RANDOM ACTS OF DANCING Southeast Glasgow-11 October-31 December 2010

Description: Building upon energy of Broomielaw Dance, Monday-Friday dance in various locations within 20-minute radius of home from wee park to motorway-bridge. The dance can take any form and can be witnessed by 1 or 1000, dances can be solo or participatory. The spaces and reflections on the experiences are posted on Facebook (Morning Dancer Page) and You Tube Channels.
TRELLIS PROJECT - Glasgow – Ongoing (Directed by Suzanne Martin)
Description: an urban sustainability project with support from DRS, Merchant City Initiative, Greenspace Scotland & Evolve. I was commissioned to develop movement ideas for gap sites in Merchant City as part of a larger regeneration initiative. Photographs by Christopher Heaney. Film in development.

New Moves tracks the inspiring work of the educational theatre charity Funforlife in Sri Lanka. Peace has officially been declared but still there is fear – and orphaned children. A group of talented professional artists bring together Sinhala and Tamil; Hindu, Muslim, and Christian young people in a glorious riot of creativity and energy.

DANCE HOUSE CREATIVE LAB (Glasgow) – Birth (control) -Choreographer/Performer
Description: Partnering Scottish Traditional Musician Simone Welsh beginning development of part three of Dance! Trilogy (Part 1 Dreams; Part 2 Hope). This lab continues her dance studies whilst integrating voice and new text and looking specifically at women’s body stories handed down through generations.
COMMENDATION: Glasgow’s Lone Dancer Embodies the Spirit of UNESCO International Dance Day- Scottish Parliament lodges a motion to recognize my Dance and Theatre work done for Glasgow and Sri Lanka on Unesco International Dance Day.

Description: Over one week worked with Scotland based Sri Lankan dancers devising new dance influenced by dance work with orphans in the former war zone of Sri Lanka.

Description: Over four weeks worked with 120 Tamil and Sinhala youth delivering workshops in dance/music/design culminating in performance titled ‘Dreams’. Also trained over 80 teachers.

Description: 24 hour charity dance marathon on Argyle Street (Glasgow) to raise monies for Funforlife work in Sri Lanka.

Description: Via the UK based charity Fun for Life and New Theatre Works travelled to the war zone of North-eastern Sri Lanka where I delivered a range dance workshops to over 100 young people.

Description: Commission by ”The Pink Cow’ (Tokyo). Performance inspired by Earth Day. Manifesting the character “The Body) of Earth)” I crawled across Shibuya crossing, the busiest crossing in the world in between the feet of the rushing passers by, strongly influenced by dance work I had studied in India.

Description: Worked with High School students for 18 months, using film as a catalyst for them to find their own voice and vision. The final project was taking the poem by the same name by Emily Dickinson where they were challenged to develop film concepts that then developed into three short films. “Two Little Girls and the Big Bad Man” has gone on to screen internationally.
